Upslope Brewing Plants Backcountry Oktoberfest

, September 14, 2015

Fall is a good season to start thinking about craft beer, weekend getaways and just how to treat the long winter ahead. Fortunately, Boulder-base Upslope Brewing Company have welcomed the cooler weather with the announcement of a backcountry tap room experience at the High Lonesome Hut near Winter Park, Colorado.

On September 19th, Upslope will be planting their Tap Room Series Oktoberfest Lager in the Colorado backcountry, with the lure of complimentary can for each visitor. Pouring a deep amber with a slight orange tinge, the 5.1% abv Oktoberfest Lager smashes malty aromas with a touch of toast, ideal for pairing with some German fare.

The lager compliments two other new releases, the Blood Orange Saison reflecting the Mandarina Bavaria hops’ citrus flavour, blood oranges and some spice from peppercorns, to cradle this beer’s sweetness. Earlier in the summer, a 5.9% abv Citra Pale Ale was released, proving popular in Upslope’s two Boulder tap rooms thanks to its distinctively fruity flavor with spicy edges.

Upslope has committed to giving one percent of its Craft Lager revenue to Colorado Trout Unlimited, to put your mind at ease as you hone in the hut this weekend.
