Coasteering off Sark

, January 13, 2012

The refreshing thought of leaping off rocks into the sea has a natural appeal for me, and indeed anyone who can bypass the shock of cool waters on the plunge. Recently I went coasteering in sark with local tour operator, Adventure Sark.

Day 11: Soca to Postojna, Slovenia

, August 8, 2011

After 145km I arrived here at Postojna where I am 4 km from the largest caves in Europe, which I plan to check out in the morning. I knew today that if I could get away from the mountains, the weather would be likely to improve. I am now only 100km north of the Dalmatian coast so surely the weather couldn’t be that terrible here?

Aqua Sphere Vista Goggle Review

, June 20, 2011

Promoted by the growth of triathlon and participation by high profile adventurers, open water swimming’s reputation is rapidly being revitalised. Endowed with fresh water lakes, rivers and temperate coastal waters, the UK is perhaps the best starting point for the sports rebirth. Romantic and natural, open water swimming benefits from the lack of gear and an unrivalled connection with a novel environment. Goggles are however a must-have item, and require a certain degree of specicifity in the open water. Aqua Sphere specific focus on swimming gear and are particuarly relevant for open water swimmers with their collection of wide-angle swim goggles. I’ve been testing the Vista in the Great Swim Series – here’s what I thought.
