Native Aparthotel in Glasgow, Scotland
Will Ross, October 19, 2024
The aparthotel concept from Native arrived in Glasgow during Summer 2024, joining a portfolio of hotels which includes Manchester, London and Edinburgh. 64 apartments have been inserted into a historic Edwardian building, formerly the headquarters of the Anchor Line Shipping Company. The maritime heritage adds a new layer to Native’s portfolio, and an additional central hotel in Cyldeside Glasgow.
Original features remain intact – terrazzo flooring, timber wall panelling, fireplaces, and original safes. On the exterior, a façade made of nautical emblems, seaweed and shell etchings add details .
Nearby restaurants are Julie’s Kopitiam serving Malaysian favourites, and fresh pasta at Sugo. Fine dine at The Gannet or Ubiquitious Chip, “Something of a Scottish Chez Panisse” (New York Times). Or pick up a sandwich at Piece and note doughnuts at Tantrum. Evening drinks at The Absent Ear (speakeasy), or Kelvingrove Café.
Training Notes

Swimmers visiting Glasgow should book a lane at the expansive Tollcross International Swimming Pool – an indoor heated pool with 25m and 50m options in the timetable.
