MSR Hubba Solo Backpacking Tent Review
Will Ross, July 18, 2023

The name of this tent is more bloated that its form. The MSR Hubba 1-Person Backpacking Tent is a popular choice for solo backpackers looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and durable shelter. It has been a top-rated tent for many years, and for good reason.
A primary selling point of the Hubba 1-person tent is its weight. Available at a minimum weight of 1.12 kg / 2 lb 7 oz, and two Fast & Light options from 700g / 1 lb 10 oz, it is one of the lightest tents on the market.
As for space, the Hubba Solo has enough cavity but perhaps not a liberal amount for including your complete backpacking setup. Headroom is generous – 37 inches so enough to sit comfortably within the tent for prolonged periods.

The Hubba series are easy to set up, even in the rain or dark, and it provides ample space for one person and all of their gear. Poles are pre-bent so with a bit of practice, you can get the tent up in less than four minutes complete with 20D ripstop nylon with a DuraShield™ waterproof coating, and the rainfly is made of a 75D ripstop nylon with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish.
It is also very weatherproof, with a durable rainfly that can withstand even the most severe storms. Made of durable rainfly and taped seams. The rainfly has a large door with a built-in rain gutter, and it also has a kickstand vent that helps to improve ventilation. Helped by its durability, the Hubba range is made with high-quality materials that can withstand even the most severe weather conditions.

Overall, the MSR Hubba 1-Person Backpacking Tent is an excellent choice for solo backpackers looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and durable shelter.
