Gjelina Hotel in Venice, Los Angeles

, January 28, 2025

Gjelina Hotel was opened on the foundations of a series of Venice institutions – Abbot Kinney restaurant Gjelina, bakery and breakfast/lunch eatery Gjusta Bakery and the most recent addition and neighbour to the hotel, Gjusta Grocer.

The 27 bedrooms have updated interiors of the building’s previous incarnation – the Rose. A series of rooms caters to soloists (small queen rooms), as well as more spacious rooms and suites priced up to $450 per day. Expect dense furnishings and unique rooms, and a reduced hospitality offering (limited concierge, no gym).

As well as the Gjelina and Gjusta highlights, make a note of Intelligentsia who are also on Abbot Kinney.

Training Notes

The Venice boardwalk is at the doorstep of Gjelina Hotel, giving runners plenty of track for long slow runs. Swimming in the Pacific is an option for hardy swimmers, while Rapha is two miles away in the heart of Santa Monica. For full training notes, visit our Venice & Santa Monica City Guide.
