Located on the southern bank of the Crocodile River east of Malelane near South Africa’s Kruger National Park, Buhala Lodge blends safari access with the comforts of a hotel overlooking a rugged backdrop of the South African Lowfeld. The north-eastern corner of South Africa is largely uncultivated and home to some of the largest nature reserves on the continent.

Buhala’s thatched roofing and traditional buildings house 18 bedrooms, a restaurant and pool area. Bedroom types are all generously sized with eight Standard Rooms, three Kruger Park River Rooms with Riverview frontage, five Balcony rooms and two Elephant suites (set aside from the main building).

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with massage facilities available on request.

Training Notes

To the south of Buhala are a dirt track roads which weave between cultivated farm fields – these work well for runs.

Kruger2Canyon is an ultra trail race that takes place out of Laerskool Mariepskop, Limpopo in early July ear year (180 miles north-west of Buhala, Directions). The route integrates Blade River Canyon and Mariepskop Mountain with 20km, 30km, 44km and 70km distances.
