The Spanish wave of affordable luxury is now established at Barcelona’s Casa Bonay, a boutique hotel located in the heart of town on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. Housed in a restored 19th-century neoclassical building, the hotel combines traditional Catalan elements with modern design, appeasing to the needs of digital nomads with a dimly lit central bar area where Norah Jones wafts between guests.

In total, Casa Bonay has 67 rooms, each uniquely styled with an emphasis on Catalan culture. Other details haven’t been spared – a yoga mat and cork block await guests, while the bathroom is well upholstered with Malin+Goetz products ranging from cilantro conditioner to peppermint shampoo and rum shower gel.

The hotel also features a rooftop terrace, with specialty coffee shop TosTao holding up the frontage at street level.
